By the end of the pages we still know pretty much next to nothing about this stone and its powers, but there are a few hints through the novel that it may in some way transport characters or spirits across the ages. Trespass is an excellent story that weaves several time periods together using a time traveling device to provide the glue that binds the various parts and brings them together through the course of the trilogy.
